ARE YOU READY TO GO?
We're helping you be better prepared for natural disasters
Our mission
Our mission is to help those communities in the Hawkesbury, Blue Mountains and Lithgow local government areas at risk of being affected by natural disasters, by assisting residents to be prepared for future occurrences.
What we're doing
Ready To Go is a Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund project through the joint Commonwealth/State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements. It is being managed and delivered by a dedicated team at Bligh Park Community Services.
The Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Blue Mountains Local Government Areas (LGAs) are some of the most bushfire, flood and natural disaster prone areas in Australia. The last few years has seen a number of disasters impact the region, in particular the devastating 2019/20 Black Summer Bushfires, leaving many without homes or access to vital documents, paperwork and information.
The Ready To Go Project aims to promote preparedness and resilience in the community by providing assistance to residents in protecting their important personal information, so they can be ready to go when necessary.
Disasters can happen when you least expect it; be prepared by keeping important documents for yourself and your family safe on a USB. Our project team members are on the ground ready to help, providing assistance in scanning documentation and providing free USBs to all residents of the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Lithgow LGAs.
